The AFSCME Education Department is Hiring!

Do you know someone who wants to be a full-time labor educator for a powerful, innovative union? The AFSCME Department of Education and Leadership Training is hiring a Field Education Coordinator to be based in California, Nevada, or Oregon.

AFSCME is the nation’s largest and fastest growing public service employees’ union with members in hundreds of different occupations — from nurses to corrections officers to childcare providers and sanitation workers. AFSCME advocates for fairness in the workplace, excellence in public services and prosperity and opportunity for all working families.

The AFSCME Education Department ignites and fuels activism and leadership by creating a culture of collaborative learning; developing members, leaders and staff as educators and change agents; and using new technologies to expand the reach of our programs. The Field Education Coordinator (FEC) is responsible for implementing this mission in assigned states. The FEC plans, designs, coordinates, and conducts education and training programs; develops program content; and works with affiliate and national union leaders and staff to develop education plans, programs, and meetings to strengthen our union and build power for working people.

Qualified candidates have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in union organizing and/or representation and/or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.

If you are ready to be part of a diverse and dynamic team of educators who share a common commitment to social justice, leadership development, and workers’ rights, click on the link below or visit the AFSCME website.
