Administrative Assistant

Based in Rochester, NY

 

The Rochester Union of Nurses and Allied Professionals (RUNAP) is Rochester’s first acute-care hospital nurses union, representing 1000 nurses locally. RUNAP seeks to hire an experienced Office Manager/Administrative Assistant to work closely with the elected board members, Executive Director, and staff on daily administrative duties.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to engage with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Competent writing skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite and video conferencing technologies
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Web, social media, and design knowledge preferred, but not required

Duties Include:

  • Data entry, as needed, and on-going database management
  • Office management including ordering supplies and helping organize events
  • Greet and direct members and office visitors in RUNAP office space
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records such as union membership files as well as various confidential documents
  • Expediate member service needs by responding to vendors, community and relaying messages to appropriate union staff and board members
  • Assist in scheduling meetings and appointments

Requirements:
20 – 24 hours a week, schedule is flexible but will require at least one weekday evening per week. In person, based in the RUNAP office in West Irondequoit.

Physical Requirements:
Mainly computer and office based sedentary work. Must be able to lift 20lbs on occasion.

Compensation:

  • $21 – $25/hr., based on experience
  • 5% 401k employer match
  • Health insurance reimbursement or stipend
