Membership Coordinator / Field Organizer

Based in Washington, DC

 

The Coalition of Labor Union Women is seeking a Membership Coordinator/Field Organizer to serve as a liaison between the organization, its Chapters, and its members.

Duties and Essential Functions
The MC/FO is a full-time position, working under the direction of the CLUW President and Executive Director. The position requires that the individual reside in the Washington D.C. area, maintaining regular office hours at 815 Black Lives Matter Plaza. To be successful, the individual should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the intent of building relationships between chapters and the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain membership databases, including Action Network.
  • Process membership applications, renewals, withdrawals, and updates.
  • Handle inquiries and complaints related to membership.
  • Collect member data, track statistics, and prepare related reports as requested by CLUW Leadership.
  • Assist in developing strategies to recruit new members.
  • Assist in preparing membership marketing materials.
  • Assist with the organization’s communications.
  • Assist in organizing local and national events and activities.
  • Assist in developing and sustaining chapters.
  • All other duties inherent therein.

Requirements

  • High school/GED required; some college/higher education in a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in database management and membership coordination.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Spreadsheets, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent Customer Service skills.
  • Ability to take initiative.
  • Highly Organized.
  • Resident of the Washington D.C. area.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.

Salary: $45,000 – 50,000 based on experience.
Benefits: Healthcare stipend; Paid time off for vacation, sick, and personal days.

The Coalition of Labor Union Women (CLUW) is America’s only national organization for union women. The primary purpose of CLUW is to unify all union women to determine and seek remedies to common concerns and develop action programs within the framework of the Labor Movement to effectively promote CLUW’s objectives.
