Position Title: Associate Director – Finance

Reports: Director of Finance

Position Summary:
The Associate Director – Finance is responsible for maintaining the general ledger accounting systems, preparing documentation for all Federal and Department of Labor filing requirements as well as the preparation of all audit workpapers.  The Associate Director - Finance responsibilities include general accounting, treasury, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and fixed asset management. This position plays a vital role in ensuring timely, accurate, and efficient completion of financial tasks, particularly month-end close, to meet company deadlines. The salary range for this position is $105,000 – $115,000 per year.

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Oversee cash management functions and ensure monthly reconciliations of all cash and subsidiary ledgers are complete, timely, and accurate.
  • Assist with the daily recording of receipts and payables and resolve any questions or discrepancies.  
  • Oversee month-end close including preparing various balance sheet reconciliations and posting recurring/adjusting journal entries.  
  • Reconcile quarterly and year-end payroll reports to ensure expenses are properly stated and reported.
  • Monitor and reconcile monthly credit card reports to ensure that amounts properly recorded and required documentation is maintained.
  • Works closely with Nursing Division to properly account for and report work fund grants received.
  • Assist in the coordination and preparation of the annual audit and tax filings with the external auditors.
  • Prepare and reconcile worksheets in support of the annual LM Filing to the Office of Labor Management Standards.
  • Compile and report all other filings pertaining to lobbying activities, sales tax, 1099s and state annual reports.
  • Work in conjunction with Director of Finance to consistently monitor and make recommendations for improved internal financial controls and reporting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business with accounting concentration preferred.
  • Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and theories.
  • Five plus years’ experience overseeing the daily operations of an accounting department and full general ledger reporting responsibilities.
  • Experience with LM Filings preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional collaboration skills with the ability to develop strong working relationships at all levels within the organization.
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc)
  • Experience with ADP preferred.
  • Experience with general ledger system conversion/updates preferred.
