Laborers’ International Union of North America (LIUNA) is a non-profit labor union headquartered in Washington, DC. Founded in 1903, LIUNA has a strong history in the protection of laborers through wages and health and safety. LIUNA is seeking an AP Processor to assist with the daily operations of their Accounting Department. This is an entry level position that will primarily process expense reimbursements and assist with accounts payable. The AP Processor will report to the Accounting Manager. The individual will also assist with accounting clerical duties, such as record retention and processing mail. This position is based in the office with an opportunity to work one day remote based on performance. Competitive compensation and great benefits.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Process expense reports on a daily basis (Concur and paper based)
- Assist with accounts payable as needed
- Request W9s for new vendor set up
- Verify bank account information for new vendor set up
- Assist with record retention and organization of historical records
- Back up processor for daily mail received
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge of Concur
- Knowledge of Microsoft Business Central
- Understanding of IRS and DOL rules as it relates to expense reimbursements
- Interact in a professional manner with management, employees, and external parties
- Great communication skills, both written and oral
- Strong attention to detail, high degree of accuracy
- Strong organizational skills
- Proficiency in MS Office suite, specifically Excel
- Good understanding of the general ledger structure and navigation
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities and see tasks through to completion
- Persistent, questioning attitude
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Associate’s degree in accounting, or related field, or equivalent work experience preferred
- At least one (1) year of experience processing expense reimbursements
