Job Title: California Campaign Coordinator
Location: California (Remote with Regular Travel Required)
Reports To: National Field Director, Doctors United/SEIU
Position Type: Full-Time, Salaried, Overtime-Exempt
Position Overview:
We are looking for a Campaign Coordinator to help lead physician organizing efforts in California. This role involves designing and implementing campaigns to increase union membership and physician engagement. The ideal candidate is a motivated individual with experience in labor or movement-building campaigns, coordination and staff management, who can empower physicians to organize and inspire leadership.
Job Description:
Organizing Campaigns and Leadership Development
- Design and implement field and digital strategies to support physician organizing campaigns.
- Coordinate and work with teams to achieve organizing campaign goals.
- Support the development of strong organizing committees and member leadership structures.
- Manage and develop a team of organizing staff, including staff development plans.
- Represent the union in community, political, and professional settings.
- Build relationships with key internal and external allies.
- Conduct one-on-one outreach, site visits, and meetings with physicians and staff online and offline.
- Provide mentorship, training, and ongoing development opportunities for staff.
- Support field teams in implementing leader development plans.
- Foster a supportive and inspiring culture of collective action, solidarity, and strategic organizing.
Strategic Coordination
- Align campaign activities with overall organizational priorities and timelines.
- Coordinate with field teams, research, communications, data, political/community, and legal teams to support organizing efforts.
- Participate in internal planning, reporting, and evaluation processes.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in healthcare union organizing
- 4+ years of experience in managing and leading union teams
- Proven success in leading and winning organizing campaigns
- Experience with healthcare professionals in a union setting
- Commitment to the labor movement, healthcare reform, social and economic justice

Salary and Benefits
The annual salary range for this management role ranges from $118,000 to $130,000, depending on experience. The comprehensive benefits package includes a 100% employer-paid defined benefit pension plan and 100% employer-paid medical and dental coverage for both the employee and their dependents. This position is exempt from any collective bargaining agreement.
